2012 Mi Sueño El Llano Proprietary Red Wine, Napa Valley
Named in honor of Rolando’s hometown of El Llano, Michoacán, Mexico, this wine has quickly become one of the most popular wines in the Mi Sueño portfolio. What began as an “interesting little blend” back in 2002, has morphed into a wine whose demand Rolando can barely keep up with! Don’t be surprised if you come across the Red Label in your favorite restaurant or wine bar.
TASTING NOTES: Our 2012 El Llano displays aromas of dark fruits, fine grain leather, graphite, cedar, black pepper and dark chocolate, along with a garnish of cinnamon. The silky tannin and bright acidity in this wine indicates great promise for its long-term aging and versatility with many foods. Bold, rich, velvety, spicy and quite frankly beautiful.
HARVEST & VINEYARD: 2012 was without a doubt an outstanding vintage. Coming off a cooler vintage, 2012 proved to be one of the best years we’ve seen in years. A medley of vineyards from our estates in the Coombsville and Oak Knoll AVA make up this Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
FOOD PAIRING: This wine needs big flavors. Enjoy with Grilled Red Meat (Ribeye Steak, New York Strip), roasted chicken, bacon-wrapped scallops or a hearty sampler of grilled fall veggies.
