2012 Parallel "Perseverance" Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Parallel Napa Valley captures the essence of the lines carved by skis on the first run of the day - as illustrated on the label - the commonalities between Napa Valley and Deer Valley, and path of the lives of the partners.
On the Ski Slopes, Black Diamonds let you know that you are about to experience the most exhilarating ski-runs the mountain has to offer. At Parallel, “BD” (Black Diamonds) is used to mark only a few of the barrels of wine we produce. The 2009 Parallel Release of “Black Diamonds” Estate Cabernet was the beginning of a branding program that will recognize a Black Diamonds Ski run each coming year.
“This is a deep ruby hued, beauty of a Cab. It has a rich, earthy nose of eucalyptus, pencil shavings, violets and ripe blackberry. On the palate you'll notice a perfect balance between great acidity and chewy tannins complimented by dark berry notes and a slight smokiness. The Black Diamond unveils it's complex layers as it opens in the glass. Stunning!” - Philippe Melka, Winemaker

"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseverence, which comes from a steep mountainside vineyard is a much more limited bottling. This ratchets up the level of concentration on the straight Cabernet Sauvignon label with expansive blueberry and blackberry fruit, licorice and camphor. Complex, full-bodied and stunningly pure and rich this is an intriguing and rather authoritative example of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon at its best. Give it a couple years of cellaring and drink it over the following 15 or more years." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
