2012 Flanagan Cabernet Sauvignon, Bennett Valley
ALMOST SOLD OUT! ONLY A FEW BOTTLES LEFT! The Flanagan family chose a superb site situated 1200’ high on Bennett Ridge in Sonoma County. Their vineyard benefits from the cooling influences of the Petaluma Gap and the San Pablo Bay as well as the warm Sonoma sunshine, allowing their 13 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah to ripen slowly and fully. The outstanding potential of the site attracted the equally outstanding consulting winemaker Philippe Melka (Parallel, Hundred Acre, Ch. Pétrus).
Mid-Northern Sonoma's proximity to the coast, as well as the dense fogs that creep down the hillsides, is the key to the region's favorable viticultural tendencies. Long a source for excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the area in and surrounding the Russian River Valley benefit with long, ideal growing seasons, allowing the perfect balance in ripening the fruit.
The defining attributes of our 2012 Flanagan Cabernet are its ripe, seamless palate and its power. This wine displays our classic profile of a floral bouquet of violets and irises, but it is the palate that really displays the richness of the 2012 vintage. Deep black fruits, warm rock, mocha, and savory notes of olive and bay leaf flow seamlessly together in a truly beautiful glass of wine.
