2011 Parallel Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The Parallel Partners have been very fortunate indeed. Their estate vineyards are among the very best that Napa Valley can offer. The Parallel Estate is located at the upper reaches of Conn Valley, overlooking Lake Hennessey, situated about 1.5 miles east of the Silverado Trail, and just south of St Helena. Vineyard Manager Jim Barbour's efforts in the field and Winemaker Philippe Melka's touch in the cellar are both clearly evident, but they both agree that the hillside soils and the micro-climate of this great vineyard are what define the wine.

Tasting Notes from Winemaker Philippe Melka: "This wine is showing lots of youth and vibrancy right now. The nose opens with notes of cherry, cacao, cranberries, pomegranate and subtle hints of Lilac. The attack is soft with explosives flavors of ripe wild berries. The mid pallet is voluptuous and juicy, showing smooth, well integrated tannins and a lengthy finish."
