2012 Parallel Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The Parallel Partners have been very fortunate indeed. Their estate vineyards are among the very best that Napa Valley can offer. The Parallel Estate is located at the upper reaches of Conn Valley, overlooking Lake Hennessey, situated about 1.5 miles east of the Silverado Trail, and just south of St Helena. Vineyard Manager Jim Barbour's efforts in the field and Winemaker Philippe Melka's touch in the cellar are both clearly evident, but they both agree that the hillside soils and the micro-climate of this great vineyard are what define the wine.

Winemaker’s Description:
“Upon first inhale, you'll be struck by scents of cinnamon, mulling spices and black plum jam. On the palate
there is a linear, focused, fresh bing cherry-like acid complimented by notes of mocha, candied blood orange
peel and toasted almond. The tannins are chalky, fine and delicate on the finish.” - Philippe Melka, Winemaker

The Winemaker, Philippe Melka: Parallel’s winemaker has been with us from day one, years before our first
bottling. Philippe is the winemaker for several of Napa Valley’s best wines. Food & Wine Magazine’s “One of
the Nine Most influential winemakers in the world”, Food and Wine’s "2005 Winemaker of the Year”, and
nominee for Wine Enthusiast “2012 Winemaker of the Year”

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate:
“Well-crafted and beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. Dense ruby/purple with lots of pure crème de cassis, good
acidity, great purity and plenty of blue, red and black flavors. This is full bodied, classic Napa Valley Cabernet
Sauvignon that should drink well for 15-20 years.” 92 points
