Rutherford. Oakville. Carneros. All great recognized Napa Valley AVA's. Next up…Coombsville. While Coombsville is not yet recognized as its own district, it is just a matter of time. Just southeast of downtown Napa, this hidden valley has remained a closely guarded secret by a community of longtime Napa vintners. While a unique micro-climate presents a plethora of conditions that can frustrate and challenge even the most seasoned of winemakers, those up to the task are rewarded by fruit unlike anywhere else in the valley.
Tasting notes from Owner & Winemaker Rolando Herrera:
“Deep, dark, and dense. This wine exudes the best attributes of a New World syrah while paying tribute to its ancestors of the Northern Rhone. Smoky, spicy, peppery and meaty, this wine begs to be paired with roasted rack of lamb, braised wild boar or some other equally exotic game. While it certainly offers up a dazzling array of succulent dark fruits, it simultaneously pays respect to its roots by showcasing a true sense of fresh Mother Earth. An accent of rich toasty oak and lively acidity bring this wine to a satisfying finish.”
