Longfellow’s program with the Griffin’s Lair vineyard continues to strengthen and produce unbelievably rich and complex Pinot Noirs. Griffin’s Lair vineyard lies at the southern edge of the Sonoma Coast appellation just west of Sears Point. Griffin’s Lair has a distinct marine influence and an annoying southerly wind due to its proximity to San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean which makes it perfect for growing Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes from Winemaker Rolando Herrera: “Dense and rich with deep brick red color. Classic aromas of cherry cola, bramble and vanilla. A lush burst of jammy red fruit flavors lead to more subtle notes of anise, tobacco, and smoke. Big, but balanced and elegant.”
