This 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from the Napa Valley Estate vineyard located high above the valley floor on terraced hillsides in the southeast corner of Napa at 800 ft. elevation. Soils are volcanic in origin with areas of ash and rocky outcroppings. Two distinct soil types exist: white volcanic ash and rocky, red volcanic deposits.
Tasting Notes from Winemaker Ken Bernards:
Plum, cherry, cedar, cinnamon spice and currant dominate the expressive aromas of this complex 5wine. The palate is firm and focused upon release with excellent length and balance. Darker fruit notes evolve with airing in the glass: cassis, blackberry and dark chocolate. This wine will benefit from decanting over the near term as it continues to develop in the bottle.
Aging Potential: drink now - 2016
Total Production: 960 cases
