The Showkets are delighted to release this food-friendly Italian varietal, the 2006 Showket Vineyards Sangiovese. The yields in 2006 were remarkably low, which intensified the flavors of the fruit beautifully. These delicious grapes from the Showkets’ Oakville hillside estate were hand-crafted into outstanding wine by the Showket winemaking team.

Tasting notes from Proprietor Kal Showket: "This year, the wine is much truer to its Tuscan roots than any of our previous vintages. The 2006 Sangiovese displays the varietals lively textures, which make it a perfect pairing for chicken, grilled and roasted meats, hearty pastas, and most dishes which include Parmesan cheese, tomatoes and basil. The flavors of the wine are pure Sangiovese with black cherry, plum and hints of spice. Aromatically, it shows violets, ripe forest berries and notes of vanilla. On the palate it displays its pedigree as it is very rich and has luxurious textures.”
