"Roux" is the nickname of Michael's oldest daughter, Margaux. If Petite Sirah is your style, grab it now as this old block relinquishes little fruit each year, and the wine cellars beautifully as well.
This is a wonderful wine for "big red" meals. Great with a grilled tri-tip all the way up to your wildest of game dishes. This is Petite Sirah for both fans of the varietal and skeptics. The density of the wine will appeal to proponents of big red wines but without any of the rough edges that can turn people off to Petite Sirah.
Tasting notes from Proprietor Michael Chiarello:
"This vintage brings the trademark dark, saturated purple color from this cool, classic vintage for Petite Sirah. The nose possesses a good amount of lavender with menthol undertones. This is my cellar favorite, and wonderful partner to winter's long-roasted meats and comfort foods."
