In good vintages, when Mother Nature has smiled down upon us here in "Wine Country", Rolando Herrera will often discover and set aside a few barrels of juice that are clearly superior to everything else in the cellar. Those barrels that prove to be truly unique and distinctive, will ultimately form the foundation for Mi Sueño's limited production, ultra-premium “Herrera” label.

Each Herrera wine is named in honor of one of Rolando’s children and will only be made in years when he feels that the vintage warrants special recognition. Considering the painstaking nature of this process, production will generally be limited to no more than 100 cases.

Tasting notes from Proprietor & Winemaker Rolando Herrera: “The 'Selección Esmeralda' is a unique Pinot Noir that exhibits much more robust & distinctive expression than Mi Sueño’s traditional offerings of Pinot Noir. Rich, freshly-turned earth escapes from the glass evolving into ripe red fruits when allowed to open up. Bold, structured fruit showing in the form of ripe pomegranate on the palate is balanced by noticeable tannins and a vein of cellar-worthy acidity lingering on the finish.”
