One of the many benefits of growing grapes in the Napa Valley is the almost limitless bounty that Mother Nature bestows upon us. So generous in fact, in good vintages, Rolando will often discover a few barrels that are clearly superior to everything else in the cellar. Those barrels that prove to be truly unique & distinctive will form Mi Sueño’s limited-production, ultra-premium “Herrera” label. Only to be produced in years when Rolando feels that the vintage warrants special recognition. Considering the painstaking nature of this process, production will be limited to no more than 100 cases.

Named in honor of his son, Rolando Jr., this wine is a reflection of his personality: bold, concentrated and muscular with great depth and substance.

Tasting notes from Owner & Winemaker Rolando Herrera: “A bit younger with room to grow, the ‘Selección Rolando Jr.’ is loaded with much more dark fruit structure and earthy notes balanced by welcomed minerality on the finish. The ’06 has years to mature before it begins to come into its own. While the tannins of the ‘Rebecca’ are supple and rounded, those of the ‘Rolando Jr.’ are big, ripe and chewy. The immense tannin structure would suggest that this wine will be equally pleasing today as it will 20 years from now.”
