***THIS IS A MAGNUM-SIZED BOTTLE (1.5L)***
The day has finally arrived. Showket Vineyards can now present a wine created from start to finish by its new winemaking team of Russell Bevan & Thomas Brocker: the 2007 Showket Vineyards Sangiovese.
Team Showket has often referred to its Sangiovese as the “Rock-n-Roll wine.” The attention to detail starts in the vineyard with the care and feeding of the Sangiovese vines and carries over to the winery where the grapes and the wine are treated with the upmost care by the winemakers. The result is this incredible Sangiovese which we think you are going to love. As Russell would say, “Our 2007 Sangiovese rocks!”
Tasting notes from Winemaker Russell Bevan: “The 2007 Showket Vineyard Sangiovese is a special wine for all of us at Showket Vineyards. It is the first vintage that was taken from the vine to the bottle with our new winemaking team and 2007 was the perfect vintage with which to start. From the second you first pour the wine, it demands your attention with a dark ruby color and aromatics which bound from the glass. This is a big, concentrated wine. It has a compelling nose of black cherry, plum, and vibrant spices. It has a lively texture that makes it a perfect accompaniment to traditional Italian cuisine. With decanting, the wine exhibits secondary scents of tobacco and roasted herbs.”
Varietal Composition: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Franc
Aging Potential: 6-10 years
