Absolutely one of the most food-friendly wines in the VC portfolio! A major advantage the Showkets have is the ability to produce a wine from their own vineyard estate with all of the varietals on the site. For the ‘07 “Asante”, that is what they did. The ‘07 is a happy marriage of art from Russell Bevan and science contributed from Thomas Brocker to create a true Super-Tuscan styled wine.

Tasting Notes from Proprietor Kal Showket: “The initial violet burst of flavor from the Cabernet Franc compliments the berry spiciness of the Sangiovese followed by the chocolate flavors from the Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon adds powerful-yet-smooth tannins to this Super-Tuscan style blend and leaves the taster with a long, smooth finish and always longing for more! This is another great food-friendly wine from our vineyard.”
