***THIS IS AN ETCHED IMPERIAL-SIZED (6L) BOTTLE***
Over the years the Clark-Claudon family has grown to know its estate vineyard like a parent knows its children. Double planted on the terraces, with elevations from 800 to 1000 feet, it enjoys every exposure & varying soil depths. Therefore, each section of the vineyard has something unique to offer. Each has to be raised to support its strengths. Consequently, "Team CC" gently vinifies & ages the 5 harvest lots separately. These become the blending pieces of the Clark-Claudon Estate Cabernet.
It is amazing that 5 such distinctive 100% Cabernets can come from a contiguous 18.5-acre vineyard. But it is this distinction that gives the estate wines their complexity while also revealing their common foundation. Our ‘05 Vintage celebrates the joining of a beautiful season and place; evidenced in this classically beautiful Cabernet.
Tasting notes from Robert Parker, Wine Advocate - 94 points:
"This family-owned vineyard in the northeast mountains of Napa Valley has produced a sensational 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by a Pauillac-like perfume of spice box, cedar, black currants, and subtle background oak. The wine is full-bodied with sweet but noticeable tannins, and a savory, expansive mouthfeel."
