This is not your typical Grenache, no sir. This is one takes California Grenache to a new realm. To begin with, the wine comes from a cooler climate, but that remains warm enough to reach ripeness levels and provide enough hang time to soften the tannins and provide a velvety mouthfeel.
Born to be enjoyed with lamb chops covered in rosemary. Always good with pates, cassoulet, and veal. Even great with a salad –
add some wild mushrooms, seductive figs and crispy bacon. Everything's better with bacon.
Tasting notes from Winemaker & Proprietor Jeff Cohn:
"Aromatically this wine is second to none, pure and intense. Raspberries wrapped in a blanket of Herbes de Provence and even a touch of air-dried meats hang in the aromas, all coming together with subtle touches of crème brulée and then cherry compote. The flavors have a broad spectrum of raspberry swirl, sweet pipe tobacco, cranberries, roasted wild sage and hints of rosemary."
