Tela Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by M.H.M. Wine Company of Napa, a very small wine venture started by Eric B. Mercier, who moved to California from his native Québec back in 1991. The current vintage, 2007, was produced from 100% Napa Valley fruit by the talented Rolando Herrera of Mi Sueño Winery. The vineyards sourced are all situated in the "Coombsville" area of southeast Napa. Each of the first three vintages yielded only 140 cases.
The name Tela is Latin and means Canvas or Painting (“Toile” in French). The painting featured on the front label was created by Napa Valley artist Annie Bouthillette Mercier. It is entitled “Dancing with my wine”. Each of Tela’s vintages illustrates a different painting from Annie, featuring enjoyable wine drinking moments. The originals are on loan at the renowned Vintner’s Collective of Napa, where Tela wines are made available to you. Please cherish this collection over many years to come.
Tasting Notes from Winemaker Rolando Herrera: "We observe nice aromas of cherries and boysenberries both in the nose and in the month, with hints of chocolate in the back ground. Smooth tannins accompany the nice, long finish. A full bodied, not overly ripe but well balanced wine supported by suitably integrated oak.
Blend Composition: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petite Sirah
Total Production: 140 cases
Aging Potential: 6-10 years
