The primary source for our Carneros Pinot Noir is the Toyon Vineyard located in the western side of Carneros. It sits on a cool, southern facing knoll with spectacular views to San Pablo Bay. It was planted for us in 1998 to two clones of Pinot Noir: our own variation of the Swan selection and Dijon 115. We continue to blend in the old vine Martini clone Pinot Noir that we have worked with over the last 10 vintages. The bombastic up front fruit of the younger vine Toyon Vineyard blends nicely with the layers of complexity and the perfume the old vines have to offer. We are excited by the combination of mouthfilling black cherry, plum blackberry, and dark chocolate flavors overlaid by aromatic nuances of spice, cola, and violets.
