Destino Wines, Biography
Destino wines is owned by
. Chris has been in the food business most of his life. First as a restaurateur and then as co-founder of a regional chain of specialty coffee stores. He has been passionate about wine for 30 years.
In 1997 Chris had an amazing bottle of Le Montrachet and a light went on in his head. That wine was the inspiration to produce an ultra-premium California Chardonnay. A long time love of Napa Valley Cabernets completed the vision and the concept of Destino Wines.
Chris has the same approach to winemaking that he has had to everything he has done. It is with intensity, passion, and an uncompromising quest for quality.
We are most fortunate to have Ken as our consulting winemaker. His experience and knowledge will help determine the destiny of our wines. Ken and Teresa Bernards produce their own highly acclaimed wines under the Ancien label. Ken has also put his talented stamp on many other wineries including Truchard, Domaine Carneros, and Whitford Cellars.
We are a small operation, and could not achieve the success for which we strive were it not for the guidance and energy our many friends. We have great relationships with six different families that grow grapes in Napa and Sonoma County. These are long term relationships that are based around the mutual respect and dedication to making great wine from great grapes.
