Lamborn Family Vineyards, Biography
Lamborn Family Vineyards is located at 2,200 feet above sea level, high atop Howell Mountain, Napa Valley. Howell Mountain's volcanic soil, combined with its distinct meso-climate, provides the small 8-acre vineyard with ideal growing conditions. This environment produces Howell Mountain Zinfandels and Cabernet Sauvignons of the highest quality and intensity, with all winemaking by Heidi Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame. The grapes which eventually become Lamborn wines come exclusively from their estate vineyard. Lamborn takes that formula one step further by farming the vineyard themselves. Their annual farming decisions are based on quality and nothing else.
Howell Mountain holds the distinction of being the very first sub-appellation of Napa Valley, granted so by the BATF in 1983. Consistently producing some of Napa Valley's top wines, Lamborn Family Vineyards has been growing wine grapes on Howell Mountain since the late 1970's. With over three decades of farming excellence, Heidi Barrett has been crafting Lamborn wines since 1997, striving to bring quality, value, and the "Wow!" factor in every bottle for you to enjoy!
